Sarah + Jon's Wedding | The Barn at Second Wind, Sacramento | May the 4th Be With You
Happy Anniversary, Sarah and Jon!! Man, time has flown by! It feels like I was just shooting your beautiful and unique wedding by the Delta.
When my second shooter, Christina and I first arrived to the venue, our eyes widened at the sight of all of the Pinterest-worthy decor. Everywhere you looked, there was a new and unique idem we HAD to capture. From framed rescue animals to vintage furniture to all of the star wars - themed details you could ever wish for (complete with lightsabers). Thankfully, we were given a TON of time to get to capture all of these fantastic pieces before the bride and groom arrived. You could say we enjoy our job. ;)
When Sarah and her ladies arrived, finishing touches were made, glasses clinked, and many giggles were had. The morning vibes were extremely chill for both Sarah and Jon as they prepared to have the first touch. Jon’s eyes showed he was ecstatic to get to hold his love’s hand before the ceremony. When the time came, they had a peaceful moment where they got to have their first touch around the corner of the beautiful barn, whisper their excitement for the ceremony, and felt relief of getting to hear each other’s voices before the big moment of the first look at the ceremony. Whether you do a first look or first touch before your ceremony, it truly helps with the pre-ceremony jitters.
After a touching ceremony with an abundance of both of tears and laughter, they kissed and were greeted with a salute of white lightsabers to the march of the famous star wars theme, The Imperial March. It was epic, to say the least. It was so fun to see family and friends of all ages take part in this salute.
Family photos followed, with some members dressed up in Star Wars attire. I’m pretty sure I had a smile on my face the majority of this day. Everyone was so much fun to interact with and capture.
If I had to describe this wedding in one word it would be: FUN. Sarah and Jon certainly know how to throw a party. With retro vibes from 60’s music blasting and a TASTY grilled cheese sandwich dinner melting into every bite (complements of Drewski’s), the party showed no signs of slowing down.
Just before sunset, we shot romantics in the vineyard then headed up the road to the Delta to get some golden-sunlit dancing and more smooching in.
The twinkle lights paired with chandeliers illuminated the glammed up 40’s barn, and the dance floor was alive with laughter and the best dance moves I’ve seen in a while. Close by, the cool Delta breeze filled the air as guests cozied up next to the roaring fire, cake pops in hand.
Again, Happy anniversary, Sarah and Jon! It was my honor to photograph your beautiful day. You guys rocked it!
Oh, and…..
May the force be with you! ;)
